Heartland Café & Mart

Student SEO & Social Media Consultant
Project Overview
This was a project I submitted for my E-Marketing & SEO Fundamentals undergraduate courses at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. It is an example of the University's core philosophy of “Learn by Doing” as it is a collaborative effort to provide student consultancy for Heartland Café & Mart, a small business in Walnut, CA.
My Contributions
In the first part of this project, I designed social media content for the client that focused on consumers’ shifting behaviors and desires due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  In the second part, I conducted an SEO analysis of the client's website domain, with the goal of increasing Search Engine Results Page (SERP) performance.

These are the advertisements I designed for use in email marketing and organic social media outreach campaigns. The tools that I utilized for this were Photoshop CC and Canva.
Ad Designs
3 Social Media graphics in a decending ladder layout. An email advertising graphic that states, " Food from the heart; Delivered; Salads | Sandwiches | Soups; Vegan Entrees Anywhere; Order online at www.heartlandcama.com .
I conducted an analysis of the Heartland Café & Mart's website domain, with the goal to improve Search Engine Results Page (SERP) performance. Beginning with website load speed, I produced optimizations to the domain’s JavaScript & CSS, which would increase web page responsiveness by nearly 3 seconds. Next, I conducted a MOZ root domain analysis & Google Trends analysis. This led to the discovery of improvements to linking domains, ranking keywords, and domain authority. Lastly, I provided recommendations to localize blog content and to build a backlink catalog to improve local SEO and improve local SERP results, particularly with Google Maps and Yelp rankings.
